ARTSCOPE E-BLAST | APRIL 21, 2016

Fountain Street Fine Art presents three alumni of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design who have strengthened their abilities as painters and strengthened their bonds of friendships since their undergraduate work in the early 1990’s. Artists Michelle Albert, C. Clinton and Nicole Maynard-Sahar convey their experiences over the previous twenty years through their dedication to art. Though each artist has a unique style and conveys their experiences differently, the exhibit functions as a cohesive body of work in which the differences illuminate the individual artists technique and the content of the work unifies the pieces.

The artists note the importance of perception on their work, with Clinton stating “The transformative power of light and water on our perception of the world, and the magical, often mysterious effects on what we see, are the elements I strive to embody in my work.” Since their time at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design the individuals have continued their desire for knowledge and have become accomplished in a variety of mediums including printmaking, ceramics and digital art, featuring work in a variety of shows and being the recipients of several prestigious awards. Working with encaustic, acrylic, oil and mixed media, Albert, Clinton and Maynard-Sahar create distinct pieces reminiscent of experience and passion.

20 Odd Years is exhibited at Fountain Street Fine Art at 59 Fountain Street in Framingham, Massachusetts and runs through May 15, 2016 with a reception on April 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
