Fountain Street Gallery first opened its doors in Framingham, MA in 2011 as a membership-based gallery. Co founders Cherie Clinton and Marie Craig began their journey as gallery owners with the mission of providing a venue for an ever-expanding community of artists and art-lovers in Boston's Metro-west suburbs. Over the years, Fountain Street Gallery gained a following and reputation as one of the strongest contemporary galleries outside of greater Boston. The entire SoWa community was thrilled when they made the move from suburb to city in April.

... And the feeling is mutual. Craig commented, "We're really excited! Moving to SoWa was something we'd considered hypothetically for a while, and the situation with our building gave us the push we needed to take the leap. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to give our artists exposure in Boston's gallery row."

Fountain Street Gallery wasted no time in preparing exhibits for its first couple months in SoWa. Currently on exhibit until August 27 is Yellow Too!, created by a group of Core artists and curated by Sorin Bica. Immediately following this on August 30 until September 3 the gallery will be hosting Making a Painting: The Blue Tarp Project, a pop-up installation and participatory art event by Joseph Fontinha. Fontinha will re-create his studio in the gallery, inviting visitors to observe and take part in the creation of photo and video paintings.
