Reception March 12, 5-7PM
Artist Talk/Poetry Reading  April 3, 3-5PM

My paintings always seem to reflect my visual experiences, both at home and abroad. The paintings in this exhibit are the direct result of my falling in love with a lily pond (no more than 15’ x 25’) north of Boca de Tomatlan, near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, two years ago, and my viewing a contemporary exhibit of Aboriginal paintings in Brisbane, Australia, last winter.

Because I am drawn to detailed design, complex compositions, and multiple colors, these two subjects alone provide endless inspiration for me, and afford me a chance to indulge my passion for interpreting images, and, as well, inviting inspiration from art history: perhaps, in this case, Monet and Van Gogh. Both of these subjects are just the jumping-off point for me to discover while creating images I lose myself in.

My paintings make me happy–they help me relive my time and capture my memories, and I hope they will offer an uplifting and lasting experience for anyone who sees them.
